Dr Christopher Peppler (born 22 December 1947) is a South African theologian, pastor and author of (Truth is the Word, Restoring a Lost Focus, ) a book which is aimed at contributing to the efforts of many to refocus both Christians and the church itself on the Lord Jesus Christ. Following his schooling at Grey Boys High School, in Port Elizabeth, he completed his military training at the Naval Gymnasium in Simonstown outside Cape Town. Christopher began his career in a bank, and at age 40 left the private sector, to pastor the (Village Church in Lonehill, Gauteng ). Over the last nearly three decades this church has planted out several other church congregations. Today, 27 years later, he is still Senior Pastor and Lead Elder of the Village Church which has an average attendance of approximately 500. Following a call to restore truth to the church, he established the (South African Theological Seminary (SATS) ) in 1996 and served as its principal for the first 10 years. Today, SATS is the largest distance learning theological seminary in the Southern Hemisphere, and is represented in 72 countries, with over 1,800 active students. Dr Peppler is currently Chairman of the Board. ==Education== Dr Peppler has a number of business qualifications from the Institute of Bankers, Damelin Management School, and The University of the Witwatersrand Business School (International Executive Development Programme and Marketing Management). He has a B.Th equivalent Diploma in Theology from the (Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa ), a Masters and a Doctorate from the (International Theological Seminary ), a Ph.D from (Newport University ), under the tutelage of the late Dr. Rex Mathie in South Africa, and a Docorate in Theology from the (University of Zululand ) under Professor Alrah Pitchers.
